Ayad M. Gharghoury, M.D.

Pulmonary Medicine | Primary Care Medicine

After graduating from St. John’s University School of Pharmacy in New York City, Dr. Gharghoury continued on to medical school. He trained at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey as a resident in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, before completing his subspecialty training in Pulmonary Medicine at California Medical Center in San Francisco.

He then moved to the Desert area in 1994, where has been since caring for patients in Yucca Valley and Palm Springs.

Dr. Gharghoury held numerous positions in the hospitals with which he is affiliated, including President of the Board of Desert Regional Medical Center, President of the Medical Staff and Chief of the Department of Medicine at Hi Desert Medical Center, among many others, positions that are voted for by his colleagues. He was also voted "Doctor of the Year" on four occasions, three of which were in consecutive years.

Outweighing any accolades, the most important attribute to Dr. Gharghoury is the quality of care he delivers to his patients, with emphasis on compassion, patient input and mutual respect, be it in a critical care setting or end of life hospice care, practice fields of his that are treated with equal importance.

Having been a nurse for over forty years, many of those caring for critically ill patients, Liz demonstrates compassion, empathy, and patient-focused care, with emphasis on prevention, as well as treatment of chronic conditions.

She graduated from the University of Austin with a Bachelor of Science in nursing, and later earned her Master’s degree in Nursing Education and Nurse Practitioner.

Since joining Dr. Gharghoury’s practice, she has continued earing the trust and confidence of her patients, and is committed to providing quality care to each patient.
